Installation
Perch Base USSVI member and Arizona Silent Service Memorial (ASSM) President Joe Trotter, Perch Base Life Member
Vic Van Horn, Perch Base Life Member and Webmaster Dan Marks, & Associate Member David Hibsher conducted cleanup activities and
installed a new paver at the ASSM in Wesley Bolin Plaza at the Arizona State Capital on June 24, 2026. (Sorry, I had no photos of
David.) Other activity since Monday, June 22,
included professional painters repainting the chain boundary around the Memorial and the submarine at the top of the Memorial.
The Barbel Base USSVI, in Yuma, Arizona ordered the new 8" x 8" paver in memory of USSVI National Life member,
Holland Club, WWII Subvet, and Barbel Base Charter Member William P. Gaddis.

The Arizona Silent Service Memorial (ASSM) in Wesley Bolin Memorial Plaza in front of the Arizona State Capital.
The area was masked off by the professional painters to prevent overspray. The submarine has been painted with its primer coat.
The chain boundary has also been painted. The base will likely be re-painted this fall.
