Perch Base Life and Holland Club member Joe Trotter and his wife Kathy toured the Naval Special Warfare Center at Coronado, CA, on May 16, 2025, with the Naval Submarine League.
The Naval Special Warfare Center is commonly called SEAL Training or BUD/S (Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL Training), but those are individual schools within the training command.

SO YOU WANNA BE A FROGMAN?
This fella, a replica of the character from the 1954 horror film, “Creature from the Black Lagoon,” greets each sailor as they report to SEAL Training. Only 20 to 30% complete the training to graduate. The first underwater demolition team members during WWII were referred to as Frogmen.
