March 2025 Western Region Roundup

This is the Russian Foxtrot class submarine Scorpion (B‑427) moored between the Queen Mary and the pier. It used to be open for tours, but was closed to the public in 2015 due to flooding.

March 2025 Western Region Roundup

Here's a fun sea story from Dan Marks, your webmaster:
I toured the Foxtrot Scorpion many years ago. All the tour guides were from Russia, but had gone home to visit family. I ended up conducting a tour when I went on board. The same thing happened once when I toured the USS Pampanito (SS‑383) in San Francisco when all the tour guides were gone, and I conducted the tour.
When you've seen one, you've seen them all!
