March 11, 2023 Meeting
Perch Base Submarine Veterans (USSVI) had a guest speaker, Steve Momsen, the nephew of Admiral Charles “Swede” Momsen, and installed George Woods as Base Commander during the March 11, 2023 General Meeting.
Admiral Charles “Swede” Momsen was the pioneer in American submarine rescue. He invented the Momsen Lung escape apparatus and designed of the first rescue diving bell. We were honored to listen to a presentation by Admiral Momsen's nephew, Steve Momsen at our March 11, 2023, General Meeting. Steve spoke about some of his life experiences with the Admiral.
