Jack Patterson, QM1(SS) USN (Ret.)

Perch Base Holland Club member Jack Patterson, QM1(SS) USN (Ret.) passed on to Eternal Patrol on January 14, 2022.
Jack served and qualified on the USS Sea Robin (SS-407) from 1951 to 1954 and on the USS Pickerel (SS-524) in 1960 and retired in 1986.
Jack also served two tours in Vietnam and as a tugboat master.

Surfaced at the North Pole in August of 1970, Chief Quartermaster Jack Patterson, dressed as Santa Claus, greeted Cmdr Alfred S. McClaren, the Commanding Officer of the USS Queenfish (SSN-651).

Services with Military Honors were held on Friday, March 11, 2022 at 10:30 AM at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N Cave Creek Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85024, and a celebration of life followed directly after the services.

The American Legion Post 94 Chaplain from Sun City West said prayers and appreciation for Jack's service to his country.

An expended shell from each of the volleys of the Three-Volley Salute were presented by the American Legion Post 94 rifle squad team leader to Jack's widow, Rhonda.
The three shells represent the three volleys fired and the three words: duty, honor, and country.
