OBITUARY
Perch Base Member Ken Meeks unexpectedly departed on Eternal Patrol on the evening of Friday, December 6, 2019.
Our condolences to his wife, Soon Young, his daughter, April Meeks, his son, Will, and the rest of the family.
Ken enlisted in 1976 and qualified in submarines in 1980 aboard the USS Seadragon (SSN-584). He also served aboard the USS George Washington (SSBN-598), and the USS Los Angeles (SSN-688), leaving the Navy in 1993 as MMCM(SS).
He was a member of USSVI Perch Base in Arizona since 2015.

The funeral chapel service was held at the Heritage Funeral Chapel at 12:30 PM on Tuesday, December 17, 2019. The service was conducted in Korean by Rev. Wonhyuk Choi, Senior Pastor, New Life Presbyterian Church of AZ, with an interpreter. Family comments followed which impressed us with their statements of how important Perch Base was to Ken.
