Sierra Verde Elementary
Perch Base took the USS Phoenix float to the Sierra Verde Elementary School for a static display on
Friday, November 8, 2019.
Sierra Verde, a Science, Technology, Engineering & Math (STEM) school, conducted a Veterans Appreciation Day program.
They fed us breakfast then held an assembly to show their appreciation for Veterans and their patriotism. They really treated us like VIPs!

Pictures of the student's family and relatives who served in the military were displayed.
Reserved seating for the Veterans.

The Colors were presented by the Air Force Juniot ROTC, SDOCHS and the everyone recited the Pledge of Allegiance.
The Sierra Verde Choir sang the National Anthem and other patriotic songs.
Colonel Jeffrey Jennings (ret) was the Guest Speaker.
The 7th and 8th Grade band played music.
