Perch Base took the USS Phoenix (SSN-702) float up to Congress, AZ on October 1, 2016, for the Old Congress Days Parade.
A great time was had by all and the Congress folks enjoyed our participation.

We jokingly referred to this as the "CONGRESS PRADE" because the sign to the registration table was spelled "PRADE" last year.

Lo and behold, the same sign was posted again this year, so I guess it is an inside joke with the Old Congress Days organization.
Or perhaps, the joke is on us!

Our USS Phoenix (SSN-702) float won First Place in the "Unique Entry" category. I guess when they finally realized that it wasn't a BBQ smoker last year, they weren't quite sure what to call it!
