Prayer of a Submariner's Wife

My husband, here I stand
alone, on this gray dock
trying to become a rock;
not just a rock, an anchor.

My sailor, this foggy morn
tradition rules; I turn away
from gray, in gray, against gray,
for the luck to bring you home.

My God, here I wait,
alone, on this gray dock
praying to remain his rock,
and anchor, and his wife.
